Travel time...take one

This was my first stab at creating a heat map of drive times based off a network of streets. I chose to populate a speed limit field with known data and some estimated data then simply divide each line segment length by the speed limit thus giving an estimate of travel time per line segment.

Manor ISD Permits map

One of the many things I do is make public information requests for permit data from cities and counties. Then geocode and aggregate them and put them on pretty maps. This one is for the school district of Manor near Austin, TX.

I created both of these animations for a course I took titled "Environmental Change" I was simply trying to illustrate the change of the Brazos river path over the past 65 years.
